SILENT SCREAMS

Mother Earth, she weeps in shadows,
Her heart is drenched in rue,
Her forests burn in crimson flames,
Her skies no longer blue.

She bears the scars of time and greed,
Her oceans filled with tears,
Her silent scream echoes,
Throughout her dying years.

MY MOTHER’S DAUGHTER

I have no mother; she is lost to me.
I have no father; he is dead to me.
But I am a daughter.
A daughter of an earth Mother.

For She took me into the warmth of Her forests.
Taught me strength as great as the seas.
Protected me fiercely with Her steep mountains.
Introduced me to a family in the form of beasts.

I am my Mother's daughter.
As wild and free as She.

THE WEIGHT OF SILENCE

If a tree falls in the forest,
And no one is around to hear it,
Does it make a sound?

If she silently weeps into her pillow,
With you lying asleep beside her,
Is there any love to be found?
